Volunteer with The Heart Connection

The Heart Connection Children's Cancer Programs utilizes hundreds of volunteers every year so we can provide excellent programs for families touched by childhood cancer at little or no cost to them.  Volunteers accomplish tasks that range from stuffing envelopes in our office, to loading trucks of camp supplies, to running an advanced health center complete with chemotherapy at our Oncology Camp.  Some of our volunteers give hundreds of hours each year, and some spend a few hours each December wrapping gifts. Each one plays an important role in our mission of improving the quality of life for families touched by childhood cancer.  Below is a brief list of some of the ways you could get involved with The Heart Connection!

  • Doing arts and crafts with kids at the hospital
  • Running kids’ activities at a parent support group
  • Becoming a regularly scheduled office volunteer
  • Becoming an on-call office volunteer
  • Volunteering at or running in Run, Rock & Stroll
  • Wrapping gifts during the holidays
  • Donating snacks or materials for a support group or retreat
  • Spending a week volunteering at Camp Heart Connection
  • Planning our Survivorship Connection Conference
  • Distributing posters to local businesses
  • Adopting a family for the holidays
  • Helping set up or take down our holiday tree
  • Serving as a camp counselor for a weekend retreat
  • Donating your unique skills to The Heart Connection. You may have a great idea that we have not even thought of!
