Run, Rock & Stroll

Wellmark BlueCross BlueShield of Iowa presents Run, Rock & Stroll, an event benefiting The Heart Connection Children's Cancer Programs. The event will take place Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. at Water Works Park in Des Moines. The event includes a 10K, 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided throughout the event!

Registration is available online below. Run, Rock & Stroll's entry fee is $10 for children (ages 3-10) and $20 (ages 11 and up) until May 27. On May 28th the early bird registration will end and prices will increase to $25 for adults. The day of the race will the registration will be $35.

The first place male and female in the 5K and 10K will receive an award. In addition, the first and second place male and female finishers in each of the seven categories for the 5K and 10Kruns will receive awards. Categories: 14 and under, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.

Hate waiting in registration lines on race day? New this year, you may choose to get your race packet mailed to you! This includes: race bib, t-shirt (you are guaranteed your shirt size) and other "goodies." This option in only available if you register before May 19 and costs $11.00 per participant.

Schedule:
7:00 a.m.- Registration
7:30 a.m.- Warm-ups and Kid's Village opens
8:00 a.m.- Run/Walk begins
9:30 a.m.- Results/Awards presented

On Friday, June 18, all participants may collect their packets, including the commemorative t-shirts, from 4:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Center Court (lower level) at Valley West Mall. Packets may also be picked up the morning of the race from 7-7:30 a.m. Your timing chip will have to be picked up on Saturday.

Remember you do not have to participate in the event to donate or to raise funds. If you are participating, however, you must register for the event before forming or becoming a part of a team. We will have a prize for the team who raises the most funds as well as for the individual raising the most funds.
