Kelsie's Story:

Thank you for the outstanding experience that my daughter, Kelsie, had at your week-long summer camp last month. We had just returned from a wonderful month-long trip that included meeting “Barney” as her “wish”. I didn’t expect the camp to be able to match the level of excitement that we had experienced on that excursion. I was wrong. At your camp, she was so warmly accepted and respected by everyone. No name-calling, no teasing, none of the painful experiences that occur on a daily basis for being different. She was so empowered, that she didn’t seem to want “mommy” much—such a bittersweet accomplishment for me to experience. Thank you. I had no idea it would be so positive and powerful. It is amazing that out of our painful, frightening exposure to the world of cancer could come such wonderful gifts.
